Is This How You’re Feeling?

  • Your to-do list is a mile long and everyone depends on you to get things done. Take a break? There’s no way!

  • You worry about everyone else’s thoughts and feelings. You wonder, “Do I even know what I want or feel?”

  • You can’t sleep. Or when you finally do sleep, you wake up in the middle of the night in a panic and can’t get back to sleep.

  • You’re avoiding talking to someone close to you. You can’t seem to think clearly when you’re interacting with them, so you just don't. But you want that to change.

  • Trying to make a decision is paralyzing. You’d rather avoid it altogether instead of risking disappointing others

You deserve to live the life you want — free from anxiety holding you back!

Why do I offer online therapy in Wilmington, Delaware?

You want a therapist who knows and understands the culture of where you work and live.

I was born and raised in Delaware and currently reside in Wilmington. While I am licensed to provide therapy services in several different states through PSYPACT, I like to focus on working with clients from the regions where I am most familiar: Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

The cool thing about being able to provide online therapy services in multiple states, is that you don’t have to be home to have a session with me.

For example, if you live in Delaware and work in Maryland, we can meet in either location. Traveling to Texas for work? Visiting family in Seattle? We can still meet.

As long as it’s in a PSYPACT participating state, we can still continue with our regularly scheduled therapy so you can get the help you need.

I have a deep connection with Wilmington, especially. My partner and I were married here; I frequently visit the local parks for walks with my dog; we enjoy dinner out with friends; and I love seeing shows at the local theaters.

Steps to Work Together

  • Step One

Send me an email. We will find a time to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. If we are, we’ll move on to step two.

  • Step Two

For our first session, we’ll spend 50 minutes getting to know what your biggest stressors are at the moment. We’ll discuss your goals and what “living the life you want” means to you.

  • Step Three

We’ll meet online weekly or biweekly. Our frequency and number of sessions depends on you and your goals. I typically see clients for several months, but every person’s needs are different.

FAQs About Online Anxiety Therapy with Me

  • We will meet online either weekly or every other week depending on your needs and goals.

During our 50-55 minutes together, I will guide our conversations to help identify key sources of your anxiety and stress.

We’ll discuss coping strategies that may work best for you and we might even practice some together.

Our sessions are tailored to you and your healing. I see you as the expert on yourself and we will collaborate on how to best help you achieve your goals and get you to where you want to be.

  • No, I do not accept insurance. I am considered an “out-of-network” provider. I can provide you with a Superbill that you can give your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.

  • There are several reasons I don’t accept insurance.

First, I feel I can provide better care to my clients when my time is spent working clinically vs. administratively.

Second, I opt to maximize client confidentiality, which can be compromised with insurance companies.

When your insurance pays for your treatment, they can demand access to records or require a diagnosis in order to pay for or approve ongoing treatment. This information then becomes part of your medical record.

  • My fee for a typical 50-55 minute session is $165. Sessions are paid at the time they occur.

  • A Superbill is a document you can provide to your insurance company to seek reimbursement. The document has information they’ll need, including a diagnosis, session code, and all of my professional information they require (ex. NPI, address, etc).

  • Online therapy is completely safe, private, and secure.

During our time together, we will be using a secure video conferencing service that is HIPPA compliant and ensures your privacy.

To ensure your privacy during our sessions, it’s important for you to be in a quiet, private space where you and I can speak freely. Make sure you are mentally present by putting your phone on silent, putting a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, and consider letting others know you need privacy during that time.

As with any online meeting, make sure you have a reliable internet connection. That way, we are making the most of our time together.

If you are unable to access a private location with reliable internet, you may find in-person therapy to be a better fit. Check out this post about Finding a Therapist who is a good fit for you.

  • Yes, online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. As long as you are able to be mentally present during our time together and in a secure, private location; there is not much difference than if you were to meet with me in an actual office.

I would even say online therapy, in many cases, could be more effective than in-person. It is easier for my clients to make and keep appointments without worrying about travel time.

  • While one of my focuses is relationship issues, I only offer individual therapy. That means, it’s just you and me during our time together.

However, there may be certain instances where another person may be invited to a session based on your therapeutic needs.

My main focus is for you to speak freely without fear of judgment or feeling guilty for your thoughts, struggles, and emotions. This is why most of our sessions will be one-on-one.

In some cases, family or couples therapy is a better fit for their relationship issues. Finding a therapist who specializes in that type of therapy may be more beneficial for you and your situation.

If you’re unsure. Schedule a free get-to-know-you call and we can discuss.
